About Shannon Knot, Course Instructor
Shannon was born in Alabama, but then moved to Ohio shortly after. She has three amazing sons: a 16-year-old, Branson, and 13-year-old twins, Mason and Cameron.
Her hobbies include anything and everything with her sons, scrapbooking and gardening in my yard. She really loves her flowers. She enjoys watching her oldest son wrestle; it's bittersweet as it’s fun and exciting, but nerve-racking at the same time.
She graduated from Swanton High School and received her Dental Assisting Certificate from Penta County Vocational in 1989. She has been working in the dental field ever since and truly enjoys what she does. She became a Certified Dental Assistant in 1995 and an EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary) in 1996. Both of these credentials can only be obtained after work experience and testing.
Shannon has a passion for teaching. She has taught for another local dental assisting program from 2004 - 2010. Shannon thinks it’s so rewarding sharing her love of the profession with people and then watching them start their career knowing that she was blessed to be part of that.
She has worked in many aspects of dentistry including being an assistant and has also worked as a business office team member and office manager. Dental assisting and EFDA are her favorite parts of the dental field. She really enjoys patient care and educating the patients.
She is blessed to be part of Dr. Frankel's team as their standard of care rises above any other office she has seen. She enjoys being part of their team as they are continually growing, leaning and improving.
